40 Francs France 1835 A – Louis-Philippe I
The obverse features the right-facing bust of King Louis-Philippe I, with the legend:
"LOUIS PHILIPPE I ROI DES FRANÇAIS".
Below the bust appears the engraver’s signature DOMARD F.
The reverse shows the denomination and date 40 FRANCS 1835 within a laurel wreath, surrounded by the inscription "DIEU PROTÈGE LA FRANCE" (“God protects France”).
The 40 Francs 1835 A is an extremely rare issue from the period of the July Monarchy (1830–1848).
It was struck in a very limited mintage of only 7,366 pieces at the Paris Mint and is today seldom encountered, even in major numismatic collections.
The specimen offered here is very well preserved – an exceptional addition and a true highlight for any advanced collection.
